Looking for that special spark to get your creativity going? Why not think in absurdities. Start thinking crazy thoughts and see what comes of them. The proceeding hairline was the absurdity I was exploring this week. Instead a receding hairline, the hairline is proceeding…attacking the rest of the face.
Absurd thoughts are great idea sparklers, because they break us free from the internal critic. Because it’s ridiculous or silly, our brain lets us entertain thoughts we wouldn’t normally. The more you develop or Photoshop your absurd idea, the more you’re getting the internal critic to “let go”.

This past year I had a ridiculous idea for an app that lets you put beards onto babies. I spent about two weeks working on it, and wound up putting it into the app store. It’s called BeardMyBaby, and despite being a completely pointless endeavor, it was a blast to work on. I even set up a site at http://www.BeardMyBaby.com
