I’m a fan of sit-coms. Plop me in front of the TV and I’ll enter a sit-coma laughing occasionally at all the formulaic jokes. Do you relate?
But have you ever watched a sit-com with the sound off? It’s not nearly as funny…until you start making up your own story. And that’s today’s Creative Draino: watch a comedy with the sound off.
Find an episode you’ve never seen, and hit the mute button. Create your own story with the visuals you’re seeing. It’s a challenge at first. But that’s the idea.
Soon this will be one of your favorite things about TV. You’ll want to get together with a group of your wackiest buddies and laugh at each others’ story lines.
And you’ll find that creative block slowly eroding away. The juices will start flowing again. Ray Romano guarantees it.
I am Deaf, when I was kid I don’t have closed caption for TV, so I have no idea, and I did watch with my own imagination.
Now I have closed caption for TV, I can’t enjoy TV without closed caption! 🙂
