On Sunday, some friends and I packed up everything I own into a moving truck. I loaded my car on a trailer, attached it to the moving van, then went to lunch. Lunch was delicious. We went back to the apartment to clean things up and grab some last minute things, then went outside to the truck to leave.
It was gone. The truck, with everything I own, was missing without a trace. “It was stolen,” were my first words. We looked everywhere. It couldn’t have been towed. How could a full moving trucks with a trailer and car attached to it be towed. It was gone.
Panic set in. “I don’t even know what to do in this situation. Does renter’s insurance cover stolen moving vehicles? What’s my deductible? Would Penske cover the loss?” I had no idea what to do. Finally I called the police.
They needed information I didn’t have. So I called the moving truck company. After a long hold I got the license plate info. My panic grew and grew, until finally, it stopped.
“This is just stuff. I can replace it. Worst case scenario, I live with my parents for a couple months while I save money to buy enough stuff to make my new apartment livable.”
Then peace. God was in control of the situation. I had no idea how. But I knew it would be okay.
And as that peace kicked in, common sense reigned. I looked in the parking lot to see the “you will be towed” signs. I called the number. They had my truck.
$180 and two hours later, we were on the road heading to San Antonio.
It was raining and the roads were icy, but God had taken care of me so far. So I relaxed.
God has peace for you even in the most stressful situations. You just have to look to him. The worst that can happen is they take your life away…but isn’t that winning after all?

OMG linkbait title! I definitely clicked.
Glad everything’s okay 🙂
wow! Ive got to admit, my palms were a little sweaty reading this! Glad you found your truck AND car!
I’m REALLY glad you were able to get the truck back. I agree, crazy times suck (trust me, I’ve had SEVERAL this year) but they build us up like crazy. It’s through those times that I’ve experienced God the closest–worship is deeper.

That I may learn Your statutes”
