Let me introduce you to a luxury I just discovered. It’s called Found Time.
Found Time is simply a period of time that you didn’t know existed. For me, Found Time is Sunday nights. Up until recently, the church I work at had Sunday night services. Because of the time commitment and preparation the Sunday evening service required, that chunk of four hours was dead to me. It was weekly devoted to one task, and I dared not plan anything in that block of time.
Now we moved the service to Wednesday nights. I have a completely virgin block of time. There is nothing scheduled on Sunday nights. I don’t really know what to do with this time. So I hang out and lay on the couch with my wife for hours. The relaxation potential is incredible!
Unfortunately, Found Time is a rare luxury for people. We don’t often lose things from our agenda–things are usually added. But I guarantee, at some point you will experience Found Time. Some long-term commitment will end or your schedule will change.
I encourage you–when you get Found Time–leave it alone as long as possible. Keep it untainted by agenda items. Enjoy it.
I’m looking forward to that! lol

Now all I need to do is have someone cancel a service!
Actually, I’m in a musical production right now that’s about to open. When the two week run is over, I’m going to have LOTS of found time.
Thanks for this!
that sweet lull after a massive, time-consuming project. yummy! 🙂
