Technological advances have changed the way we consume creativity. Not only do we expect it to be incredible, but we expect it to tailor itself for us. Targeted ads on Facebook and Google search memory are just a couple technologies that have changed our thoughts about interaction and consumption.
Although this change in interaction/consumption presents challenges, it also gives us a chance to reach people in a unique way without shocking them into a seizure. Imagine folks from George Washington’s generation walking by an ad like this.
This ad, using new technologies, allows passers-by to interact with the message and model in the ad. It really makes me want to walk in the store. So what are some ways you can harness the concept of interactivity to make your creative projects shine?
Some ideas (besides the concept above):
- Books: Create a soundtrack to accompany different sections of your book. (An idea from my synesthetic friend.)
- Music: Create a song that requires multiple mediums to listen to. (Example coming tomorrow.)
- Print: Create a message that only reveals itself once you fold the paper properly.
- Books: Create a “choose your own adventure” section at the bottom of each page.
Now share your own ideas to infuse interactivity into your projects.

Thanks again for your blog…some good no great ideas!
He’s not diagnosed…but he sees keys in color. I forget which color is which key…but to him the key of E might be blue. Look him up on Facebook and add him. 🙂
