This blog post is fueled by a discussion induced adrenaline high. I just finished chatting with someone that wants to help me make Sunday| Mag‘s design and layout much better than I’ve been able to. My stellar designers have already made it awesome…but my end of the layout isn’t where it should be.
How do I have the opportunity to work with such amazing and talented people? I invite them and include them.
I’m willing to express my dream and vision to anyone I speak to.”Sunday| Mag is all about helping churches get the ‘why’ behind creativity. So often our endeavors are about gimmicks or are misdirected. This mag will help churches be effective at creative communication.”
It’s a compelling vision that people see the need for. Then I invite them to be a part. How would you like to contribute to the process? And not everyone gets to be a writer. Not everyone even gets to be a graphic designer. But some offer helpful insight and their outside impressions that help tweak and hone.
In your churches, are you inviting and including people in the process? Are you sharing your compelling vision then offering them a chance to hop on board?
If you ever want to do something bigger than yourself, this is what it takes. Who will you invite and include this week?
Great thoughts Jonathan!
I have started a process within my youth ministry to begin re-branding the group. I have gotten a huge response from asking the youth in our group to help with this process.
But it’s tough for me. I have had to work hard to allow them to take the reigns. I still suggest and offer help, but I love to pick their brains for ideas.
Thanks for this post!
