I’m guilty. I’m addicted to work. I bury myself with projects. Even during my downtime my brain is ticking through my to-do list. Always processing. I’m a robot. This isn’t how humanity is meant to function. We need mischief. We need irresponsibility. We need to scrape our knees and get bloody noses.
Great ideas blossom in an attitude of play. Creatives need to take time for mischief.
- Hijack a friend’s Facebook and post silly messages.
- Re-arrange your co-worker’s desk.
- Make a prank phone call. (*67)
- Yell at that barking dog.
Give yourself time to play by working some mischief into your schedule. Your inner child will thank you.
What mischief will you make today?
We have a ton of squirrels that run around on campus. They are usually known for stalking people. I make it a habit to yell at and chase them every day.
yelling at squirrels…sounds like a good resume item…or band name… 😛
