We all go through creative blocks (even those of us who blog about getting through them). My current block has to do with writing.
I’m working on writing a book. I have so many ideas. So many quotes. So many stories. But when it comes to putting them together, I’m stuck.
I’ve identified the cause of this block: insecurity. What if no one wants to read my book? What if it sucks? What if my ideas turn out to be wrong?
I’m being honest and transparent to let you know we all go through the blocks. Here’s how I’m going to break through mine. Hopefully this will help you.
I’m going to write. That’s right. I’m going to sit down and write. Even if it isn’t good. Even if it’s uninspired drivel. I’m gong to write until I finish. Then I’ll put it aside for a week and edit it then.
It’s far easier to edit and improve once there’s something to edit and improve on.
So I hope this encourages you with your creative block. Sometimes we just need to go for it and break through.
