My newest productivity tool is daily to do lists. I tend to get bogged down with long lists. Even if I check off 20 things, the looming 100 items depress me. And I will never get it all done. Talk about despair!
So now I go day at a time. I choose the things I want to do today, and do them. When I’m done, I can either make a dent in tomorrow’s list or enjoy some fun.
To do lists are meant to help us get our work done. They are supposed to help us, not own us. Don’t let your to do list own you. You need to tell it what you’re going to do.
Perhaps this is a simple concept, but it’s been revolutionary for me. I no longer use my email inbox as a to do list. I no longer wander around with huge lists. Life is good!
Check out Things for Mac if you’re looking for a good to do list that let’s you make daily lists.
I recently started making daily to do lists and it has done wonders for keeping my focused on what I must do that particular day.
I am currently using Wunderlist.
Nice! I think I tried Wunderlist…seemed pretty cool. I'm not sure why I stuck with Things…but it definitely helps keep me focussed too 🙂
