Looking to experiment a bit with your creativity? Today’s idea sparkler gives you some ideas to play around with. Mind you…this isn’t for the faint of heart.
We’re all fairly familiar with the tools we use–whether that’s Photoshop, Auto-Tune, Delay Pedals, Rhyme Dictionaries, etc. They’re intended to make our jobs easier.
We normally want to hide the fact that we use these tools. They aren’t meant to take over the creativity. They belong in the background.
But what if you let the tool take over the art? Look at the Auto-tune revolution over the last few years. Auto-tune used to be for fixing small pitch imperfections. Then a few people started having fun with it. Revolution. Cher. T-Pain.
Look at the delay pedal in guitar work. It was meant to give you a cleaner, rhythmic sound. Then U2 began using it like crazy. It’s now the defining sound of the band. A tool used excessively actually made them unique.
What tool can you use in excess? Instead of hiding your tool, flaunt it.
Auto Tune is amazing! I really want to use it in a worship song sometime.
This is my favorite use of autotune.
haha. love it! 🙂
