I’ve preached the principle of sowing and reaping. Call it karma if you like. The point is: you get out of life what you invest in it. God set up the principle, and even He operates by it. (I open up that can of worms in my devotional if you’re curious about what I mean.)
I realized even though I preach it and believe it, I haven’t been proactively living it. Sure, if someone asks me for help, I’m pretty eager to say ‘yes’. But I never seek people out and offer my assistance.
Well I’m changing that. I recently Skyped in with some guys who run a site similar to mine (but very new) and told them everything I know about making money from their site. I gave them all my secrets and even all the numbers. I’ve even started looking for advertisers I can connect them with.
I don’t think I’ll probably see any penny come directly from these guys. Of course, I was tempted to see a way I could benefit from teaching them what I know. But I decided against that. I offered my help, no strings attached.
If I’m going to see the principle of sowing and reaping do things in my life, I have to sow correctly. I have to give and trust God to bring it back to me—whether from the soil I’m planting in, or elsewhere. I trust God, and I trust the system He set up. I will get something in return from giving.
Now I ask you, when was the last time you proactively planted something in someone else? When was the last time you sowed a seed (without being asked)?
I want to encourage you. Plant. Give. Find someone you can invest in and invest in them. I guarantee you’ll see it come back to you.
