So many people attempt to follow their dreams – to create something meaningful. But so many lose strength and conviction. They don’t follow through. I’ve been guilty many times.
I abandoned an amazing blog project. I left my fledgling company in neglect when I lost interest. I gave up my magic career.
I lacked conviction.
Too many dreams become abandoned orphans with no one to look after them. We think someone else will pick them up and care for them better. But no one does.
There’s a reason that vision was yours. You need to realize you are the best and only person to make that dream a reality. You need the conviction to answer, “Why me?” for your dream.
So many people could have created Sunday| magazine. But I’m the one with the conviction. I’m the one best positioned to make it happen. Sure, a large company could have made it happen. But it would lack the organic, ground level personality that makes it a success. Sunday| magazine didn’t need deep pockets and millions of contacts. It needed heart. And I was the one that needed to make that happen.
Conviction.
Do you have conviction for your dream? Do you know why you are the one who needs to make it happen? Maybe you need a little encouragement and a shot of self-esteem:
You can do it. And you are the only one who can.
I needed to hear this. Thanks.
