Yes, you will. You will die. Probably not at my hands.
But some day your ticker will stop ticking and the lights will go out. Then what’s left? A lifeless sack of meat and bone – then your spirit departs. Everything that represents you is either given away or shoved into a box and sunk in the ground.
I don’t mean to depress you. There’s a glorious life awaiting if you’re a Christ follower. But we need a reality check…our time on earth is short. We must make the most of it!
So you have two options for how you live:
You can live internally.
Or you can live externally.
The internal artist is the insecure one. They’re afraid to show their work because of what people will think. They’re often depressed and super hard on themselves. The internal artist doesn’t make the most of life. They dwindle it away belly gazing. What a morbid way to live!
But the external artist…ahhh the external artist. They live for something greater. They give themselves away. They abandon the limits and they create…not for themselves…but for friends…for family…for strangers…for God! They recognize the brevity of life and make the most of every second.
Their legacy is much more than a clump of meat in a box. The world misses the external artist…because the external artist touched hearts and minds.
My choice: I choose to live externally. I choose to squeeze every drop from my life and give it to others. I choose to focus on others instead of trapping myself in this prison – this clump of meat. My impact will be bigger than just me. I will be missed when I die. And not just by well-wishers…but by those I truly impacted with my life and my art.
Now your choice: Will you live externally? Will you focus on others? Will you impact? Will you be missed? Will you create in such a way that you squeeze every drop from your life before you’re gone…and give it away?
Intense….True….Realistic….sounds like an external artists’ article to me.
Awesome work!!!
