One question. What’s the biggest thing you’ve learn about creativity? Paul Clifford answers: “Creativity happens best in community. The lonely artist is a myth.”
Creativity isn’t a desolate planet floating through outer space. No man is an island, and no piece of creativity is an island.
Creativity is achieved through borrowed inspiration. Something we see, read or hear inspires us with an idea. And this isn’t just a one-time occurrence. Every idea, every inspiration is borrowed from a lifetime of experiences.
To think that you can go it alone is a fearful road. We can’t block ourselves from future inspiration.
So embrace the fact that creativity happens in community. Build a network of creatives. Rely on them and let them rely on you.
