I have a car. I can walk. I live in an apartment. I’ll eat three square meals today.
I don’t mean to brag, but I have it pretty good.
But there are times I feel like a waste of blessing. There are times I don’t truly appreciate what I have. Why would God possibly waste such amazing things on someone who doesn’t even appreciate or recognize the blessing?
Because God’s awesome. That’s not a trite saying. He’s so good to us.
And the coolest thing about his goodness is that it doesn’t end. It’s not some limited resource like money or gasoline. He doesn’t have to hold back because it doesn’t run out. When He blesses me it doesn’t keep Him from blessing someone else.
Just like God has an endless supply of blessings, He’s given us an endless supply of creativity. Seriously.
James 1:5 tells that if we need wisdom, God gives it to us liberally. And wisdom is simply a form of creativity. It’s seeing the world through the right perspective to inform your decisions.
So creativity isn’t in a short supply.
That means you don’t have to hold back your creativity. You don’t have to save some of your ideas for your next project. You can pour yourself into your work – knowing the ideas will be there for the next one. And the next…
I’ve found my greatest creative blocks come when I try to hoard ideas. When I hold onto ideas and keep them to myself, that’s all my brain has room for. But when I prime the creativity pump of my brain by releasing my ideas, new ones start flowing.

I like this part:
He doesn’t have to hold back because it doesn’t run out. When He blesses me it doesn’t keep Him from blessing someone else.
I think we put God on human terms where we know we can only bless a person with something small like a free starbucks. Or maybe even a big thing like giving away a car. God isn’t confined by how He blesses. Just like you said.
Great reminder!

So true! How can you have room for new ideas if you haven’t cleared out the old ones? I have a tendency to lean towards creativity hoarding– but I recognize it and have decided to fight against it.
