I think we all have that one big dream we want to achieve. It’s something we’ve been thinking about for a while. We’ve been making plans. We’re waiting for the stars to align so we can follow the dream and see if comes to pass.
I like to think of this dream as a gazelle in Africa. A lion’s prey. And the dreamer, well the dreamer is the lion. You are the lion.
Right now, you’re crouching low in the tall grass. You’re stalking your prey. You’re planning, repositioning, waiting… You’re sneaking up on your dream. You’re close. Very close. So now what?
Unfortunately, too many lions are content to stay in the grass. They don’t want to take the risk to leap. To pounce. To pass the point of no return and enter into the thrill of the hunt.
It’s safe in the tall grass. Nothing can go wrong in the grass. Unfortunately, you’ll never reach your dream as long as you stay in the grass. Your dream won’t come to you. It won’t leave the safety of open land and wander into the tall grass. If your dream does that, your dream is stupid and deserves to die.
In Proverbs, it says the righteous can be as bold as lions. And if you’re a follower of Jesus, you’re counted as righteous. You can be bold.
It doesn’t matter how unqualified you feel. It doesn’t matter what people are whispering in your ear. You don’t have to stay in the safety of the tall grasses.
You can pounce on your dream. You can attack it with everything you have inside you. You’re qualified.
It’s good to plan. It’s good to reposition. It’s good to sneak up to your dream. But at some point you have to pounce.
Is it time for you to enter into the thrill of the hunt?
