Today I’m hopping a plane on my way to Kochi, India. I’ll be on a six-day journey to a conference for creative church leaders there, then back on Sunday evening. It’ll be lightning fast, and major fun.
While there I’ll be giving five separate talks and producing the conference main sessions. I’m not sure I’ve ever done this much for a conference—including when I directed Echo Conference last year.
Jetlag and potentially typhoid fever will be major factors here, but I know it’ll be worth it. (I really hope I don’t get anything nasty while over there.)
I’ll write some blogs about my trip to let you know what’s going on.
My big encouragement for you today is this. Say yes to opportunities—even if you feel in over your head. I’ve never regretted saying yes to an opportunity that seems intimidating to me. Even when I feel it’s outside my capacity to handle, I always come out (mostly) unscathed on the other end of the experience.
I’ve never met anyone who dwells on regrets about an opportunity they took. Nearly everything people regret is an opportunity they were too afraid to pounce on. Worst case scenario, I vomit nightly and barely deliver anything worthwhile to the conference attendees. Best case scenario…well…who knows. But I have a feeling I’ll be living in the best case and not the worst.
What opportunities do you have coming up? Anything you’re afraid of? Share and we can all encourage each other in these pursuits.

Jonathan, I have an opportunity also right now that I think will majorly help my business. I have been letting fear get in the way of taking the next step. Today, I am going to make that phone call I need to make. Worst case scenario, I throw up, but like you I am hoping for the best.
I’ve found that taking these jumps can lead to such amazing experiences! I’m going out of town twice this week even! The struggle for me is making ends meet in between awesome experiences like this.
