One of my favorite things about blogging is the ability to see how people are finding my blogs. Most statistics programs let you see what people typed into a search engine in order for your website to show up.
But sometimes I’m amazed by the results I see. For one, many of the search terms are almost completely unrelated to my blog topic. But secondly, I’m often amazed at the types of questions people are asking. Specifically, they’re asking the wrong questions.
Take for example these two search terms I saw on Sunday| Mag last Wednesday:

The first one has so many errors in it, it’s laughable. First of all, Hillsong isn’t a person, so you could never sing like Hillsong. Secondly, that’s not really something you can teach even if Hillsong were a person. It would be like asking how to write jokes like Jerry Seinfeld. You could potentially copy some of his style, but you’d never be able to fully be like the guy. He’s an individual.
The next one is less obvious. But the best key for a worship song to be sung by a female depends on the melody. Different melodies reach for different notes, so there’s no one right answer. That’s why songs are written in all sorts of keys by both men and women.
These people probably closed their browser disappointed by the fact that they couldn’t find the answers they were seeking. And they’ll never know they were asking the wrong questions.
I’ve found there are answers in life, but only if you’re asking the right questions:
- Wrong question: “How do I become like someone else?”
Right question: “How do I become the best version of myself?” - Wrong question: “How do I make as much money as possible?”
Right question: “How do I use my skills to their maximal potential?”
Ask the right questions in life, and you’ll get the answers you seek.

well stated!!! so many times I ask the wrong question… this needs to be shared by many!!!
