Are you an insecure artist? I am. Every time I share my work with people I know they’re judging me. I’m not good enough. They think I’m stupid for even trying. Do you feel that way?
I ran across this video today. Look at the introductory text. Forgive the bit of vulgarity at the ending.

“Don’t make fun of me.” This guy actually apologizes for his video before I watch it. Why do I want to watch a video you’re sorry you made?
It’s so tempting to apologize for our work. That’s insecurity. We can’t do that. You had the conviction to dream. You had the conviction to create. Now have the conviction to stand up for your work.
There’s no room in the world for insecure artists. We need boldness. We need confidence. The world becomes a better place with your art. Don’t apologize for that.
