If I hadn’t built my first stage, my site Church Stage Design Ideas wouldn’t have happened. And my first stage design almost didn’t happen. I got to sit down for lunch with a friend named Camron Ware. And as we were talking I told him the story.
We were modernizing the church and we new a compelling stage would be a big part of that process. I had no experience…no one on the staff really had any experience. But I started brainstorming anyway. I had a concept. I wasn’t sure if it would look good and I was afraid. I almost took the easy way out and called Camron.
But I didn’t. I decided it was an idea that was worth pursuing. I decided this art in my brain had to make it onto the stage.
I’m not saying it’s wrong to hire a professional. But I am saying this: the art in your brain has to make it to paper.
But the easy way is to keep it in your brain.
Do you have art in your brain that you’re afraid to put on the paper? Are you afraid your art will fail? Are you afraid you will look bad when it does?
Please let me challenge you. Put your art on the paper and let it be seen. Don’t take the easy way out. See what comes from your art when you let it loose.
