Creatively stuck? Learn a trick. A magic trick, juggling, card flinging, contact juggling…you get the idea. Learning a new trick can free you from your creative block.
When I’m creatively stuck, it’s usually because I’m not motivated or I’m too immersed in what I’m doing. Refocusing your energy can help you break the monotony that blocked you in the first place.
It’s the same principle that works with speech. If you’re nervous about public speaking, hold a paper clip. It focuses your negative energy on the paper clip so you can direct your positive energy to the audience.
Focus your negative energy on learning a trick so your positive energy will be free for creativity!
Here are a few tricks I’m always practicing (I’m not nearly as skilled as these folks):

So what tricks do you practice? What tricks do you want to learn?
