Dreams are expensive. Getting inspired often doesn’t come cheap. When creativity involves travel or education, people can get scared off. The resources just don’t seem to be there.
But that’s not really true. If you’re reading this blog, you have the resources necessary to fulfill your grand dream. It comes down to priorities.
Take traveling. I have friends pulling in 6 digits annually who complain that they don’t have the funds to travel. Then I have friends who should probably be receiving food stamps that travel multiple times a year – internationally!
What makes the difference? Priorities. The rich-o’s spend their money on a closet full of shoes and a new car every year. No wonder they don’t have money left over. They spend every penny they make.
Then you have the people who always seem to be traveling. They live simply. No cable. No flat screen tv’s. Used cars. No PF Changs. No Starbucks. But they travel like crazy. They scale back on the things that don’t matter so they can do what does matter.
So may I propose that you have every resource you need to realize your dream? Could you scale back a few places to loosen the resources you need?
What can you give up?
