I’m not talking about Napoleon or Alexander the Great. I’m referring to the crazy mysteries of the past. There are some haunting tales that are way stranger than fiction. Try these for starters:
- The Children’s Crusade
A boy has a dream that Jesus wants him to peaceably convert Muslims to Christianity. Thousands of kids join along and they sail away on ships. Unfortunately, those kids became either sold into slavery or shipwrecked near Sardinia. - Vlad Dracula (Count Dracula)
There are many stories surrounding the real man, Vlad the Impaler, as he was called. One time he invited all the poor in the area to a feast. He spoiled them. He then asked if they would like to be free of all earthly cares. When they answered they did, he burned the building down on them. - The Murder of the Princes in the Tower
Princes Edward and Richard disappear shortly after being seen playing in the Tower of London. 200 years later two boys’ skeletons are unearthed while renovating the tower. The skeletons were buried but never verified to be the boys.
These stories invigorate my curiosity. How could they not? The mystery…the scandal…the insanity…your mind will automatically try to rationalize it. You’ll create characters and scenarios to attempt to understand. It’ll kick your creative butt! Try it!

This makes me think of a simple sign I once saw in a school's bathroom when I was working there during the summer. The sign said "Please Keep all food and drinks out of Restroom". Signs saying to keep that stuff out of auditoriums, sanctuaries, etc. are normal…but it intrigued me because I began wondering, "what could have possibly happened that made them put a sign up saying not to have food or drinks in a BATHROOM?!" Suddenly, my mind began making up TONS of stories and I think I could write a book about them called "Foul Defeat Upon the Toilet Seats"! lol
Haha! Two thumbs up on this comment 🙂 you actually made me chuckle in an airport terminal on a two-hour layover 😛
