Life is so distracting. There are a million things screaming for your attention at any given moment. There’s always something to fix, to clean, to cook…it will never end and it will suck your creativity from you.
This isn’t to say that you should be irresponsible and neglect your family. But you do need a “safe” environment to create in. You need to be safe from the distractions that will pull you away. This is especially true if you’re trying to be creative at home.
Give yourself a safe place to create–where you love to be and where pressures of life don’t get to you. We all need a place of escape when we find it hard to focus.
This might be Starbucks, a locked basement, the beach, or a library. Find a place you love. Find a few of them. Go there. Be safe. Create.
