There’s a certain momentum that occurs with creativity. People don’t learn until they start learning. People aren’t creative until they start creating. Follow me, here.
Have you ever worked with an old, dry sponge? Though the sole purpose for a sponge is absorption…they don’t absorb anything until you get them going. The first few drops of water poured onto an old sponge simple fall off the sponge. They don’t absorb until they get a little wet.
The same thing happens with our brains. When we lose our inspirational spark we become like an old, dry sponge. It’s really hard to get inspired again.
The way to regain your spark is to continually soak yourself with creativity and knowledge. It will feel at first like nothing is sticking…but it’s a necessary process to get you creatively “wet.”
