I’m not going to name any names here. But there’s this one blogger I’m familiar with that I just can’t figure out. I can’t figure out how they have a successful blog.
The guy is sort of creepy looking. He doesn’t really have anything unique to say. And he is saying things that are frankly a bit archaic and outdated for his industry. I actually find myself visiting his blog occasionally trying to figure out why it’s still succeeding.
And maybe that’s how it’s succeeding. Maybe there are a thousand people like me trying to figure out what’s going on. But it’s probably more likely that the guy is just reaching an audience and offering what they’re looking for.
Have you ever found yourself in a similar situation? You see someone’s success and just can’t figure it out. It actually even bothers you. They aren’t a threat and they aren’t even competition, but you just feel something inside you that rebels against their success.
No? Yes? Maybe I’m the only one. Maybe I’m just a hater.
Or maybe we’re all a bit like this. And maybe I have people visiting my sites trying to figure out why I have any success. Maybe I’m the creepy guy saying archaic things that put people at disease.
Maybe you’re the same.
Maybe I should stop worrying so much about why this guy experiences success, and just be grateful for the success I have. I’m willing to bet if I stopped worrying about other people’s success I’d have more time to achieve my own.
People achieve success for different reasons. That shouldn’t disturb you. It should encourage you. When you see someone success who you think shouldn’t, it should give you hope that there’s a chance for you. Don’t hate on it. Appreciate it.
Work hard, and maybe you’ll have people hating on your success soon enough too.
