Rest in peace, Steve Jobs. I won’t eulogize him or praise him. Every blogger who’s touched an iPod has already done that. But Mr. Apple’s passing got me thinking.
The hour the news broke, my Twitter stream was filled with Apple logos and appreciation for Steve. It continued for hours. Everyone was showing their gratitude for a truly inspirational man. It’s a shame those sentiments couldn’t have been shared a day earlier…
Too often we let our admiration go unacknowledged. When we finally realize how much a person has inspired us, it’s too late to tell them.
So I’ve started a habit. I’m choosing one person every few days who inspires me, and I’m sharing my gratitude. I drop a Tweet, Facebook message, or letter in the mail showing my appreciation.
I’ve forced myself to identify specific things in people’s lives I want to emulate and learn from. It’s actually expanded my vision for my life. It’s hard to see greatness and not picture that part of your life.
So this is my new exercise. Will you join me? Can we share gratitude with those who inspire us while we still can?

Thats a great idea! I learned to do that from an amazingly inspiring person in my life a while back. It not only helps the receiver but the giver!
Awesome! Definitely true. It’s “more blessed to give than receive” because the giver definitely gets more than the receiver.
