There’s a light inside you wanting to get out. It’s expansive–brighter than the sun. It wants to shed light in the darkest places. It’s the light of creativity. The light was put there by our Creator. And its source is the same.
God intended that light to spread. To bring Him glory. But we hide it.
We cover it with our insecurity. Our ego. Our budget restrictions…
We are afraid to let the light out, because it’s a bit beyond our control. It wants to expand and pervade. So many of us hide it–cover it. We want to tame it. But it’s not meant to be tamed.
We were created in God’s own image. We were created to reflect the creator. To reflect his creativity to the world.
God is light. He made us in His image. We were created to create.
Powerful!!! To the point!!! A challenge!!! Real!!! This is something I have struggled with in the past and am working to keep such a way torn completely apart.
Fight the good fight 🙂

Good word Jonathan. Definitely motivating.
Thanks, Andrew!

I agree. It’s often easy in this world that we live, especially in a time when creating is “very available” to all of us, to try to make it about ourselves rather than the God we represent. He is our Savior, He gave everything so that we could be, and yet we are more worried about our twitter follower count that following the passion of fire he’s lit within us to bring glory to Him.
Embarrassing.
Thanks for the reminder to keep God as the reason for why we do what we do. To not snuff out the light He is within us, to share what I am and why, not for my own glory, but for His.

Speaking of light: I wanted to share this that your post reminded me of. This is a special we created at North Point for Christmas Eve to give a glimpse into what God has called us to. Let There be Light. It was awesome to see how God used it to move people toward Him. It was a powerful moment in the room(s).
Our God is amazing.
It’s absolutely beautiful, Colin! I really think that North Point place is going somewhere…perhaps its pastor will get some recognition some time soon. 🙂
